2024 Jackman Junior
Kaipara District Council has been contacted regarding the Health Warning put in place at the Mangawhai Estuary. As of 5.00pm today the warning is still in place. The call has been made to still meet at the Mangawhai Tavern tomorrow morning. Please be there at 10.10am for a briefing. The final decision to proceed with the Junior Jackman will be made then.

The Jackman Junior is Open to Under 16 Surf Lifesaving members (age as at 1 January 2024)
Start to develop your skills to one day compete in the Jackman Classic. Starting at full tide from Mangawhai Tavern travelling to Picnic Bay. The older kids, will continue around Head Rock and back to Picnic Bay (if weather conditions allow)
It is open to all classes of self-powered craft. Skis, Paddleboards, Canoes, SUP’s or whatever you can paddle without a motor or sail.
Saturday, 13 April 2024 (Rain day Sunday, 14 April @ 11.30pm)
Arrive: 10.00am. Please allow enough time to get your craft waterside ready for a prompt start.
Briefing: 10.15am
Shotgun Start: 10.30am
High-vis vests are compulsory
