new membership - joining any surf club for the first time

PLEASE NOTE: JUNIOR SURF REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR THE 2020-21 SEASON

If you a joining any surf club in New Zealand for the very first time you will need to apply for membership through the Surf Life Saving NZ website. https://webportal.surflifesaving.org.nz/new-membership. This is completely separate to applying for membership through the Mangawhai Surf Club. For your MHVLS membership to be processed it is important this step is completed first.

  • One entry must be completed for each family member that is joining.

  • At least one parent or guardian must join with juniors. If you are a senior and under 18 years of age at least one parent or guardian must join as an Associate member.

  • The minimum joining age is 4 years old as at 30 September 2020.

  • Once you have completed the SLSNZ membership online please fill out the MHVLS membership form for Junior Surf here and Senior Surf here.

  • Membership will only be processed once payment has been received. Please make payment into ASB 123008-0049507-00

2020/21 Fees

Junior Surf
Under 14 years of age who wishes to participate in Junior Surf Club
$130            1 child & 1-2 adult(s)
$150            2 children & 1-2 adult(s)
$170            3+ children & 1-2 adult(s)
$20       Skull Cap – compulsory for all Junior Surf training’s & competition/carnivals

* Competition/carnival fees additional

Rookie (Trainee Lifeguard)
12 & 13 year old’s who wish to participate in the patrolling environment. Aimed at developing future lifeguards.

Surf Lifeguard Award (Bronze)
Anyone 14+ years old who intends to sit the SLSNZ Surf Lifeguard examination.

Lifeguard (Active)
Anyone who intends to sit or refresh the SLSNZ Examination this season and is available for volunteer patrol duty. Patrolling members are deemed Lifeguard (Active) members and therefore financial, but only if they have refreshed and have patrolled at least twice before 20 January 2020. If not, are classed as Lifeguard (Reserves) and will need to pay the membership fee.

$25 There is no fee if refreshed and have patrolled at least twice before 20 January 2020

Associate Membership
Anyone who wishes to participate and be actively involved with the MHVLS on a regular basis.
