The Mangawhai Surf Club is located on the East Coast of sunny Northland approximately 1.5 hours’ drive north of Auckland City. The physical address of the club is at the end of Wintle Street Mangawhai Heads. The outstanding views of the ocean and stunning surf beach is a perfect location for weddings and other special events. You can get married on the gorgeous private grass area in front of the club, on the deck or on the beach. The ability to manage large or small numbers makes our club rooms ideal for weddings and meetings.

Please note: We do not, under any circumstances, allow the club to be hired for 18th or 21st birthday parties.

Availability of Club: 

We are a fully functioning Surf Life Saving Club, meaning that during the weekends from Labour Weekend until Easter, there are lifeguard patrols based at the club. Generally weekends between these times are not available for hire but all other days are. Due to Regional Guard season the clubhouse is not available for hire between mid-December through to the end of January.

Charges & Deposits:

Functions: $3500 + $500 bond - 10.00am to 10.00am the following day

Meetings/classes: Full day $250 - 8.00am to 5.00pm  

Meetings/classes: Half day $125 - 8.00am to 12.30pm

The maximum guest capacity is 200 standing and 120 seated

The club does not provide catering services.

The kitchen has 2 ovens, 1 hot plate (4 elements), 1 microwave, 2 fridge/freezers, 2 dishwashers.

There is space for 200 vehicles in the public car parked situated 50 metres from the club.

Alcohol & Liquor Licensing

It is the responsibility of the hirer to arrange the appropriate alcohol and liquor license.
